My preferred medium is traditional black and white photography. Although I'm not opposed to digital media, I prefer the more "hands on" involvement with the developing and printing. I develop and print all my own work. This involvement through the whole process, from seeing the image to the finished print gives me the greatest satisfaction.
When I’m actively seeking subjects to shoot, an important consideration is the way the light is revealing the form of things. This also determines if the subject will render well in black & white. I mentally visualize the image and work to shoot in such a way that what I imagine will ultimately be conveyed in the print. My goal is to take a subject and create an image that draws the viewer into an enhanced reality.
Finally, I do not see the world as a lonely, insignificant planet, randomly spinning through space without purpose. I am convinced our world, and all its beauty, is a statement of enormous power, precision in order, incalculable diversity and creativity by an Intelligent Designer, The Lord Jesus Christ. My desire is to convey those characteristics in my photographs and bring honor to the Creator.
